Utter nonsense.
The basic law is conservation of energy which means it can never be
"consumed". Rolf, you need to learn some basic science. I suggest a
discussion with Herb Glazier. He is an imperial thinker and knows how
everything works. You could learn a thing or two!

Perhaps you'd better check the First law of Thermodynamics.
Rolf, "Exergy" isn't "consumed energy" that is utter nonsense! Exergy is
the maximum amount of work available from a system. So gravity can
supply work, but the energy is not "consumed". This is nothing but a
bunch of word games which is why you love it. Using a term mass-energy
is even more word games. Why don't you just grow up a little?
You are still an idiot.

Jeff-Relf.Me <@.> writes: >Gravity is "exergy" (energy that can do work). >Net Net, it's consumed away, never to return. >The (4D) timescape is static. Not really. Gravitational energy is the potential energy of a system. For example, two gravitating masses a certain distance apart has a certain amount of gravitational potential energy. If undisturbed, it will stay like that forever. If you allow the masses to get closer to each other you can extract energy from it. Like any other energy, some can be irreversibly lost once you have done so, but this is not necessarily so. For example, a mass orbiting another in a highly elliptical orbit will exchange energy between kinetic energy of motion and gravitational potential energy as the orbiting mass gets closer to and further from the primary mass, forever(1). (1) GR predicts orbiting masses radiate away gravitational waves so such a system does lose energy after all if this part of GR is correct. Plus friction with intersteller matter etc., so if a system otherwise survives trillions or even quadrillions of years unperturbed, orbiting masses will eventually spiral into each other. So maybe there's a little truth to your silly spammed posts after all.

Actually, the expansion of the universe increases gravitational energy. As galaxies move farther apart, some of their kinetic energy becomes gravitational potential energy just the same as when the moon recedes from the earth, some of the rotational energy of the earth adds to the gravitational potential energy of the moon. Or, if you believe in dark energy driving the expansion, some of the dark energy's energy increases the gravitational potential energy of the various galaxy clusters with respect to each other, as dark energy drives the clusters farther apart from each other. >The moon was once just 14,000 miles above earth, not 250,000. >At the time, Earth's day was five hours long. >Some of the energy of Earth's rotation >is transferred to the tidal bulge (via friction). >Not only does this makes the earth's day longer, >it pushes the moon away ( 1.48 inches/year ). While all that is true, it has nothing to do with the expansion of the universe, so I don't know why you mention it. As you say, friction causes the tidal bulge to not be directly "under" the moon, earth's rotation makes it lead the moon. The gravitational attraction of the bulge pulls the moon forward in its orbit, transferring energy to the moon. This increases the distance of the moon so some of the energy increases the gravitational potential energy of the earth-moon system due to the increased distance. Conversely, the moon's pull on the bulge works against the rotation of the earth, causing the rotation to slow down. We just had a leap second, in fact, partially due to this.

Gravity isn't going anywhere, there will always be the same total energy in the universe to gravitate, regardless of form. For as long as the universe continues to expand, gravitational potential energy will increase.
