That's not mathematics!

That's domestics!

Exactly what it is not. 2 + 2 = 4 is not only not true, but it's a
fantasy not even real. Yet you all believe mathematics is more real than
reality. I give up trying to educate clowns like you, Talisha and
Wormley. Just because you kooks are in the majority doesn't make you right.

I sense that you are upset, BJ. One may even so bold as to claim that
you are mad. Again, this all devolves from your belief in a god that
just isn't there. This belief may lead one into many, MANY unfounded
beliefs; such as a belief in ESP, remote viewing, ghosts and the 9/11
conspiracy. You need to cast off the shackles that you have placed upon
yourself with such irrational beliefs. Good luck on your journey back to
reality!

Funny, you just got your ass handed to you for saying 2 + 2 = 4 as if it
were some truth and now you are back on the "everybody else is nuts"
bandwagon. How quickly you forget that *I* was one of the ones handing
you your own ass. Dismissed.

It is true for natural numbers under the usual interpretation of those symbols
which converts those symbols to the peano notation

    011 + 011 = 01111

You can then apply the peano axioms to derive

    011 + 011 = 01 + 0111 = 0 + 01111 = 01111

And the statement is meaningful and true. However in modulus 3 + is defined as

    + 0 1 2
    0 0 1 2
    1 1 2 0
    2 2 0 1

And the statement is meaningful and false.

You can also define + as

    + 0 1 2
    0 1 1 1
    1 0 0 1
    2 2 1 0

And the statement is still meaningful and still false.

Under the axioms of boolean algebra the statement isn't even meaningful.

There is no one absolute truth in math, only truth with respect to a given
system of axioms. Whether absolute truth exists in reality, there's no reason to
assume humans will learn it.

Hail Satan for having the balls to stand up to god. Please tell me Duke,
what exactly did Satan do that is so bad? This thought has brought my
entire catholic upbringing and education into question.

I look at all the evil, suffering and horror that god has wrought unto
the world and am comparing/contrasting it with the biblical devil. So
again I ask you, what did Satan do that was so bad?

Actually, satan defined God as all love, while he, satan, is all evil.

Typical of a believer. When asked a question for which the answer is
absurd, they duck, bob and weave. They are never forthright.

I refuse to come up with answers for absurd questions.

Satan does everything on a contract basis, and is a stickler for
procedure. For do we not read in the Book of Job:

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, "Doth Job fear God for nought?
Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about
all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands,
and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand
now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face."

And the LORD said unto Satan, "Behold, all that he hath is in thy power;
only upon himself put not forth thine hand." So Satan went forth from
the presence of the LORD.

I'm a Christian.
