The last ice age is ending?

Not that this has anything to do with physics, spammer.

Nope, how about sci.geo.meteorology, sci.geo.geology or alt.global-warming.

Posting to specialized groups would make sense 20 years ago,
not today during massive Usenet decline.

Ice melts in hard drinks, psychologists make a killing prescribing them.

Would make sense 20 years ago? Got a Time Machine, PotLuck? Anyway...

So anybody should post wherever they feel like first thing any Usenet morning?

Absolutely wrong. Take something like modern Twitter for example. Btw,
a WebPlace@# (TM, SM, and BMW), where most one-line posters ought
migrate to. Why? A one-liner rarely makes a discussion, IME. Anyway...

Twitter wastes most of its 140 line length limits on #HashTags to keep
on topic. Think about that. Now do the maths. Usenet deals with
subject matters in a far more civilized/intelligent way. Those of us
who read this unmoderated NG, have to somehow tolerate the spam/trolls.
On Twitter, one can block their stalkers/trolls; doesn't mean said
stalkers/trolls have stopped talking/posting about you. Same as on Usenet.

What's it like being always wrong PotLuck? Defending Spammer Sam Worm
Liar by blaming it on some fictional decline of Usenet?! How many
discussions have you Poutnik had with Sam Worm Liar? How many of his
links do you actually read? Hey Sam, does your Analytics Team have
those numbers for Arrogant PotLuck Poutnik, The Wanderer, alone?

If it wasn't for Sam Worm Liar, the quality of Usenet would be far
less questionable. The whole idea of this NG is to discuss physics, in
an informal, hopefully friendly setting. Trolls like Sam/HVAC don't help.
There are many other Trolls, who shall safely remain unmentioned assholes.

Me personally, I care as much about knowing of the Messengers as the Messages.

According to historical statistics, USENET traffic at the end of 1996, i.e.
20 years ago was about 4.5 GB/day.

Today it is about 24 TB/day.

What is true is that the volumes in discussion groups are down, mostly
because of blogs, while the volume of binaries are up.

However, even if the volume of discussions is down, that does not mean
that anarchy should reign.

People still read sci.geo.meteorology, sci.geo.geology and I doubt many
of them also read sci.physics, so posting a copy of something dealing
with geology to a physics group is both stupid and rude.

xxein: So nothing but the last hour's news about cold fusion would be appropriate here? And if that didn't particularly interest you, you would cry 'spam'?

Except for Sam's c&p posts, I don't see much here that generates a scientific discussion even if comes as an off-spin (spin-off?).

If you don't like anything here, post something yourself. But no. All you do is bitch, bitch, bitch. Why are you here?

Jimp you have no idea how much we are all in danger! Since the last ice
age man-made global warming has caused sea levels to rise 400 feet! Can
you imagine what a disaster that was for Clovis hunters? And what if
the sea rises another 400 feet? Can you imagine the panic and disaster.

You'd better fork over that energy tax now before it's too late.
