I have this friend who goes to school in Fullerton Ca. State college works at McDonolds and just bought a 6 year old hybrid (gas + Electric.It so great He only paid $6500 Looks and runs like new.He gets over 40 miles,and never has to worry about the battery.WOW can you ask for more.Hybrid is the way to go.Bert

According to the above article generating hydrogen causes pollution, but if we choose the right method, we can minimise the pollution.  Hydrogen burns with oxygen to produce water vapour, and no nitrous oxides or carbon dioxide.  The original article in phys.org, IIRC mentioned burning hydrogen with oxygen, in the EV.

In 2015, Toyota introduced the Mirai, a FCEV at USD. 57,000 (Wikipedia).  According to thecarconnection.com, the 2018 Toyota Mirai retails at USD 57,500.  In the last 3 years inflation of about 5% has occurred, which means that the 2018 model is over USD 2,000 cheaper in 2018 dollars.

I googled, to find out that the cost of operating a FCEV is higher than a gasoline vehicle at about USD 0.21per mile; compared to USD 0.13 per mile (depending on cost of fuel).  But Toyota Mirai comes with 3 years of free fuel.

Indian versions of many foreign science magazines were available many years ago, but I can no longer find them, so they must have been discontinued, including Technology Review.  Imported versions of foreign science magazines are prohibitively expensive for the average Indian, and also hard to find at bookstores.

My favourite popular science magazine is New Scientist, and many years ago, the Indian version was available for INR 75.  That was about 10 years ago, so in 2018 currency, after adjusting for inflation it comes to about INR 150 today.  The imported version retails for INR 800 currently.  That is approximately 5 times as expensive.

The GDP per capita in India is about USD 2,000. Spending USD 11on a magazine for one hour of infotainment does not make economic sense, for most Indians.

It seems that most Indians are not interested in science.  That might explain why the Indian versions of foreign magazines were discontinued.
