Hydrogen burns with oxygen to produce water vapour, and no nitrous oxides or carbon dioxide. The original article in phys.org, IIRC mentioned burning hydrogen with oxygen, in the EV. Do you understand what air is? Do you understand that the temperature of combustion of hydrogen is for all practical purposes fixed? Do you understand that the temperature of combustion of hydrogen is above the temperature where oxides of nitrogen form? Do you understand that combustion, or burning, of hydrogen in air is highly polluting? -- Jim Pennino
