I have not read the full article but pretty sure Ars Technica posted about
them finding *increased* ice which surprised me. Need to double check it
though. Ars Technica is not a science-denial site... so really do need to
get back to that article. :)

Zwaly et al found up until 2008 (NB) there was an overall
gain of ice not counting antarctic ice shelves (NB).
They also found the accumulation had a sharply decreasing trend up
until the end date of their data (NB).

Other more recent papers (one from Simons &ct at Princeton 
published Apr this y) show that over the last few years loss in W Antarctica 
outweighs (literally, given this is GRACE data that maps the gravity field)
whatever gains in E Antarctica.

These 2 papers seem entirely consistent.

Net Net, North and South, sea ice is diminishing.

Antarctic sea ice near South America is diminishing.

Seas near humans are losing ice,
possibly due to water pollution and/or warm winds/currents.

Everywhere, including the Antarctic,
_land_ ice is diminishing.

But one study, a major outlier,
says the Antarctic is gaining _land_ ice.

It depends on *when* the study took place.  If the study was done during 
the summer, yeah they lost a lot of ice.
And gained a lot of ice in the winter.

by one tenth of the volume of the ice; so,
it'd be easy to plot, between the two pole, iff

Go down to the Seattle waterfront and see if the sea level has risen. 
I'm too far away to check the levels.
