I did not understand ALL
of it.
What does it mean?
Is it constructive or is it
a supercilious nitpicker?

Post some ideas

A pity, because Google is your friend there, “john”.

[I will forever be amazed that people like you can post using Google Groups,
and at the same time not get the idea of using the other Google services
before asking about things that they do not understand. You do not even
have to type the question into the Web Search input field anymore; just say
“OK Google, what does BTDT mean?” to get the answer *read aloud* to you.
(BTDT.)]

> What does it mean?

“Been There, Done That.” It means that what you said that I should do,
I have already done. (You just did not realize it yet.)

It is a common acronym, one of many. You would be well-advised to learn the
most used ones (or simply research them when when necessary) before posting
to Usenet again.

What, Lahn,
you didn't read the post 2 above?

If you are finished thinking,
wondering, and communicating
and only want to nitpick,
BTDT is right.

But I don't yet think that
EVERYTHING is nailed down,
so I am still here doing that.
Please read for content, not style, okay?
Attribution? You can't understand context?

Only to deride them, or to ignore them and posting nonsense of the “not even
wrong” kind instead. The record shows:

The issue here is instead that all indications are that you are a science
crank, “john”. Therefore, presenting my ideas to you would be a waste of my
precious time. Give me reason to think otherwise by your not posting like a
complete idiot anymore, and I might reconsider.

Real humans make realtime spelling errors all the time. It's just fine.

Stop being rude and hell bent on following Usenet Protocols, PointedEars.

What my pal Sir JohnJi means is... if I may paraphrase him...
Friend PointedEars, please do continue to do so. Be insightful. No BTDT.

No. That is the _GMail_ support form. Google _Groups_ has its own spam
reporting (dys)functionality, but Sam is not posting to Usenet via either
GMail or Google Groups, but GigaNews. The terms of service can be found at
<http://www.giganews.com/legal/tos_personal.html>

I still hope that Sam takes the warning shot for what it is, reconsiders,
and that my submitting a formal complaint will not be necessary. To be
clear about this, I do not object to science news as a whole; I object to
*pure*, *mindless* *mass* *copypasting* of science news where you can no
longer see the real discussions for the "news", and I object to posting
off-topic and pseudo news (such as the one about geothermal energy – the
relevance of that to *physics* is *zero*).

Hey idiot, STFU. Sam only spams this newsgroup with his global warming
crap, but this stuff is actually physics related. Nobody appointed you
moderator, so go moderate yourself and disappear!

Where was Sam's "discussion" in his post?

Why did *this* shiny thing catch his attention today?

What did he say about why he thought anyone else should be interested?

Where did he explains "Why We're All Trapped In 3-D"?

Do we not experience the 4th dimension neglected because it is only
one way?

Sam trolls with crap like this.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll
Two studies published in 2013 and 2014 have found that people who are
identified as trolls tend to have dark personality traits and show
signs of sadism, antisocial behavior, psychopathy, and
machiavellianism.

Can you say, "Stockholm Syndrome?"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome
Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon
described in 1973 in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and
have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of
defending and identifying with the captors.

Obviously incorrect.

>> […], but this stuff is actually physics related.

If you cared to notice, my objection was not to the OP in particular.

>> Nobody appointed you moderator, so go moderate yourself and disappear!

First of all, obviously you have no idea how moderation works on Usenet.
A newsgroup moderator *never* posts their comments to the newsgroup; they do
not approve and do not forward e-mails they get to the newsgroup instead.

Second, if I find a newsgroup unusable because one individual floods it with
irrelevant postings, it is my right to point out that this behavior is very
likely of disadvantage to all other users, and to warn that if this
continues, those postings will be filtered out by default with the devices
*I* use to access the newsgroup. It is also my right to send complaints to
providers for network abuse by others, and to warn them about that.
(Whether those take effect depends on the provider.)

Missing.

> Why did *this* shiny thing catch his attention today?

Possibility: It was published shortly ago, on 2016-06-07.

> What did he say about why he thought anyone else should be interested?

He did not, but it is physics-related indeed.

> Where did he explains "Why We're All Trapped In 3-D"?

He did not; the quoted text does. Does that justify posting it? I am not
sure, but probably not; it is not even news. What it certainly does not
justify is being part of a flood of "news" postings, all originating from
Sam.

> Do we not experience the 4th dimension neglected because it is only

If you mean “Do we not experience the 4th dimension because …?”, then the
answer is “Mu”. And if you mean time by “the 4th dimension”, then we do
experience “the 4th dimension”. But that is not what the article is about.

> Can you say, "Stockholm Syndrome?"

Unrelated, unless one suffers from an obsessive-compulsive behavior to use
this newsgroup, thereby considering themselves a hostage. Judging from
other postings, though, there are examples of people here for whom this may
not be far from the truth.
