 agreed,

I think someone spun McFly around too much when he was a child.

I'm thinking 'string theory" can answer why all thatis has spin Bert

Black holes don't spin..

what spins is the area around the back hole.

The area around the black hole that spis is what creates...a black hole.

If you take a shovel
and dig
you create
a hole
by the area
removed from
the ground.

Or...

if you spin
water
round and round
the spinning
makes a hole.

The hole does not spin.

Black holes don't spin.

Where do you get the information that black holes spin????

Does the hole in the doughnut ...spin?

okay,
you take a doughnut
and spin it...
does the hole spin?

and if not, then what would make the hole spin?

I'm spinning a doughnut right now and there is nothing in the hole
spinning.

I can turn the doughnut around and still see the TV right side up...

shouldn't the TV I see through the doughtnut hole be upside down????

Experiment, observation sez the hole doesn't spin.

of course, there could be a misunderstanding what exactly the
'scientific community' mean be a black hole'...
(the science community are not every good with the english language)

maybe they mean the doughnut part of the hole and not the hole itself.

(maybe they haven't got around to giving a name to the doughnut part
that surrounds the hole)

then they really mean the dough is spinning, not the hole.

English is not Science, neither is gym class...

Well, there is really no question about just what the scientific community means when they refer to a Black Hole. All you need to do is Google it up and read it for yourself...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_hole

"A black hole is a region of spacetime exhibiting such strong gravitational effects that nothing—not even particles and electromagnetic radiation such as light—can escape from inside it."

There is a lot more info on the web page, but it is not really slanted towards "regular folk" because it is a very complex subject. There is virtually NO WAY an off-the-street regular guy can even begin to understand any of this without a whole lot of serious study, but unfortunately, there are a whole lot of 'regular guys' out there who think they know what they are talking about, but who don't actually know WTF they are talking about.

Which are you? The guys who doesn't really know much about the subject matter, or the guy who has never studied this stuff but still thinks he knows all about it?

Better to be COMPLETELY uneducated in a subject, completely clueless about
the language used for the subject, and then making up word-salad babble
where you don’t even know the meanings of the words you’re using, than to
be a sheep. Right, John?

It’s the sheep that refuse to learn new things, in my experience. Are you finally admitting that you’re a sheep? Good first step.

I’m happy to learn new things that come from people who know something. New
things that come from someone who is completely uneducated in a subject and
does not even understand the language of the subject is a .... Complete.
Waste. Of. Time.

John, I know you are unread and uneducated about the subject and you don’t
even understand the language used in the subject.

Now, you can try to convince somebody that you know something deep about
physics ANYWAY. But I think you’ll find that most folks will rightfully
giggle at you. And your sheep bleat taunts won’t be compelling.

Complete? Odd, why is it then you spend post-after-post chasing John's posts?
Even a class in college is but a semester long. Away with these students.

Mahipal, long time.

I comment on John’s posts, not to learn anything, but to encourage him to
change his ways. He has taken the path of dress-up-and-make-believe, which
is fine if done alone in a mirror or as part of a show where an audience
are paying for make-believe entertainment. John, however, wants to be taken
seriously. Much like a quack doctor without a license would like to be
taken seriously. Or someone posing as a movie director to get laid by
actresses.

Or perhaps his thinking is that he’s too chickenshit afraid to try actually
learning something, and so he’s hoping that by posturing and saying
ridiculous things that he just makes up, then someone will actually try to
explain it at a level he can understand.

Or perhaps he really has deluded himself into thinking that it’s the
untainted, uneducated novices that come up with the brilliant ideas that
move the dial forward, even though that is not a historical reality,
because it makes him feel better about himself.

Regardless which one is on target with him, they’re all misbegotten notions
that should be pinched off like rotten fruit.

Even if the movie director might be female. Actresses be/are beautiful.

Or perhaps you both simply enjoy drawing attention on a daily basis?
John's fixation on galaxies and atoms being similar but on different
size scales is akin to that skit in movie Animal House. Where the stoned
professor, high with the students, wows them with what's in our fingers.

What's better, to delude one's self on one's own terms or to have
others' delusions thrust upon you?

I'm a major fan of James Burke. He wrote/televised books/shows like
"Connections" and "The Day The Universe Changed." He had/has this nice
English accent. Hey, I've got to learn me English from somewhere someone...

Anyway, James recalls a incident of farmers finding weird rocks in their
fields. Somehow, local astronomers became aware of these rocks. They
asked the farmers from where did the rocks come? Farmers, being
non-technical non-experts said that the rocks fell from the skies,
stars, heavens. Something like that, for I can only paraphrase.

Moral, as history unfolded, after the astronomers mocked the farmers
with "Sure they did. Sure they did." The rocks were later confirmed to
be meteorites. Interesting story, situation, I thought to meself.

So Odd, the unnamed one, where do you find the time to make to(y)s?

There are two kinds of people, those who want to be remembered, and
those that don't. Which one is you?

So, my grandfather, father's side, was a carpenter. Like when I was
three, years old, not in which grade, he'd make me wooden to(y)s.
I can still see him chiseling away. Then I'd run off and play...

Odd is one of the family of mockers. "Everybody" knows that rocks do not
simply fall out of the sky! That is utter nonsense and the only thing is
to heap ridicule on the farmers and call them stupid. Tell them to read
a science textbook to "prove" that rocks do not fall from the sky. The
is the only educated and intellectual thing to do. AT least in Odd's
fantasy world. Odd has no clue what science is. To him he's worked hard
to memorize all the fantasies of the religion he's come to believe in
and anyone who does not agree with his dogma must be stupid. It's simple
as that. He knows nothing but thinks he knows it all.

You and I Looperji have actually seen things far more outside of
establishment beliefs that actually really happened and we have enough
of an open mind to actually understand that the world is actually full
of miraculous events even if we do not yet understand them. That's the
difference between you and I and Odd.

Even when I was a little kid I understood that wooden toys were
primitive, stupid and worthless. When I had a toy I wanted it to actuall
WORK and be effective, not some fake liberal bullshit fantasy. I
remember ordering a "telescope encoder ring" When it came I learned a
big lesson about advertising and how people with no integrity or
practical knowledge will rob you with bullshit. Pretty much still going
on... especially in Washington. Politicians even worse that makers of
fake wooden toys.

That’s the only shit of yours I might buy.
Not too busy this time of year, I see, Odd?
Not too much to do?
