Do you need to find a nearest geolocated toilet/loo? Your Depends already bloated? Well, this iShitApp is made just for you! Download now. Fwiw, in India and China and Africa and ...., iShitApp(TM) would just point towards the nearest wall or field or, default case, ground. Yes, the app is so intelligent it uses the accelerometer, magnetometer, odometer, CoreData, weblinks, and GPS to accurately determine the distance from your phone to the ground. So EndUsers are expected to hold their phone by their ass, for accuracy purposes. We'll point that out in the Users Guide. Risks? Well, there is the potential of instantly posting your ass pictures to Facebook. Who'd notice the difference anyway? It's not a bug, more like a feature. That India thing, so you lose four point three billion potential users? Why the fuck are you all leaving the conference room already all at once? My slides is it? The smell factor? How dare companies make computers usable by the masses. I'm sure that at one time there was someone who operated computers by entering octal codes with toggle switches. That ancient dinosaur probably ground his teeth whining that those "new users" are morons because they have a keyboard and a command line. They can only truly understand a computer by entering octal codes with toggle switches. I don't want to write my own tax software. I see absolutely no value in writing my own tax software. I have other more enjoyable and (to me) more important things to do. You, however, have lots and lots and lots of free time, so go ahead and write your own tax software. Here's a thought: Computers are not intended to be hardware boxes with an operating system only, in which all users are supposed to write their own applications. That would be ... what's the word ... insane. Instead, computers become USEFUL and fulfill their INTENDED PURPOSE when they are provisioned with software applications. But different people will have different applications they want to use. So let's see, how to solve that? I know! How about a marketplace of software applications that consumers can evaluate and actually consume? "Heck no!" Fabian says. Consumers shouldn't buy! They should build for themselves. Be a man! Make everything! Well not everything, actually, but software, yes. Why? Because Fabian finds it the most interesting thing on the planet to do. And so EVERYONE should find it just as interesting. Except not. > > By this time, everyone should be assigned a digital certificate at birth, > but all they get is a paper card, a thousand year old technology. > > But don't waste your breath. As a social service, not because they're lacking talent. The fact that fewer people program, as you suggest, simply means that those who do are more in demand and therefore benefit from higher salaries. It's one of the most basic rules of supply and demand. > Ha, ha! If they had left it with the BASIC interpreter, we'd have > a much better world. Yep, programmers would be a dime a dozen and would compete for a low-paying job rather than the opposite. -- Slimer

Just want to remind you that any MacOS user can do unix shell line
commands from the Terminal application. Once you've opened it, if you
need help, you can always run [command] --h.
