Why did you post this to a physics group when there are numerous space
and political groups where it would be appropriate?

Any one that wants to be up to date on articles from this site can 
subscribe to the RSS feed, they don't need you posting them to a 
physics discussion group.

Summary: The US space effort is mainly in satellites.
