The designers of *nix, went on to "do it properly the 2nd time", by
making plan9 [based on ETHO - which I use].

It's often said that the first design should be accepted as a
throw-away, just to learn/find the hidden problems, before you
make the final/proper version.

IMO *nix shell languages eg. bash which is essential for a serious
user, is an ad-hoc mess, like the english language.

Microshaft's *shell [I can't remember its name] came later and is clean,
because they were able to learn from linux's mess/mistakes.
But it's probably not much used, since Microshaft is for users, who
can't program.
