The fact they got it into orbit at all, despite a tricky maneuver that they
had to get just right, shows they have a very good understanding of gravity
at that location.

There is still a chance of failure, but the spacecraft is already in orbit,
and if it does fail, the likely cause would be the intense radiation at that
location.

For uncertain reasons, Hitomi started rotating at a very high rate of speed,
so rapidly that it broke into 10 or more pieces.  Speculation as to why it
started spinning rapidly include a stuck thruster, helium leak, or software
error.
