Yeah it works.

His problem was he applied orders of magnitude more than the recommended
dose to the crawl space under his house. Some months later he started
feeling "funny" and blood tests confirmed he had dosed himself both
during the application and with the stuff getting into the living space.

During WWII the troops were regularly dusted with DDT to control lice
and the spread of typhus. DDT is not nearly as bad as a lot of people
seem to think when properly used.

Some African nations are concidering telling the first world to fuck off
and start producing their own DDT to control malaria.
