His ideas were about safety and how it is all improved over the ages to transport the stuff safely. If hydrogen is being used as a battery, that doesn't bode well either. The current ideas all go around improving cheaper flow batteries. Hydrogen has no viable future because its infinitely more dangerous to handle the stuff. Also there are more cheaper solid state batteries coming on to the market. How long before you put in a sodium battery behind each solar panel is an interesting question.
