"Gravitational wave" detected could be a number of 
different things in terms of cosmological motions.

(And, it's probably not a "gravitational wave".)

There's been microlensing anomalies noticed optically 
(between the Earth and the Sun) at least since the 
'90's, along the same lines.

No, that doesn't necessarily have anything to do 
with ramping up to 0.5c, dumping off the shroud, 
and landing here.
