Why?

Chips do not need to communicate internally with serial pipe lines.

Chip internal communications already match fiber optic speeds.

Chip internals have nothing to do with "could make the Internet faster".

Computers have used fiber optics for module intercommunications for decades.

Seems to me this is much ado about nothing.
