Thus, given that snow *cannot* emit at a wavelength that corresponds to a temperature it cannot reach, and given that snow won't reach below -50 F very often in anyplace but the poles in winter, we can safely set the upper wavelength of emission at 12.7419 micron. Thus, snow emits at 10.6168 to ~12.7419 micron, a narrow 2.1251 micron window. This accounts for the great majority of temperatures seen. Outside the ~11-micron infrared atmospheric window, snow wouldn't even "see" the ~3K of space due to atmospheric absorption at those associated wavelengths, thus snow blackbody emission drops off outside the ~11-micron infrared atmospheric window, making your blather about "most of it is outside the 11 micron atmospheric window" especially stoooopid.
