Well, there’s one surefire way to ensure that you don’t get a sawmill job and that’s to not apply for one. Better just to sit on someone else’s land and stew about how someone robbed you of your entitlement to a job of your liking in your home county. >> >> You’re sure? I am too old for that kind of work. That’s probably true. You are now too old to go back to Montana to do logging work, because you’ve spent the last 38 years complaining about how your entitlements were stripped from you. By now, you are completely set in your ways with not much hope for change or relief. That is how he came up with the idea that it was unconstitutional for the federal government to take all of the land west of the Mississippi except for in Texas. Land in Texas is state land because Texas was a republic before it was a state. So land in Texas and in states east of the Mississippi belongs to the states, and land in states west of the Mississippi belongs illegally to the federal government because Teddy Roosevelt was going to conserve it for big money eastern interests. This illegal land grab started in Nevada during the Civil War for a different reason. Nevada became a state during the Civil War, and Nevada politicians wanted federal protection of their interests because of the large number of Confederate sympathizers in Nevada, so they signed over about 90% of the land in Nevada to the federal government because it was considered worthless anyway. > >>> If you think it’s unfair that Delaware has a million > >>>> people and Lincoln County does not, the solution would be to cut down all > >>>> the trees. > >>> > >>> That sounds like typical city thinking, all right, except that you people > >>> do not cut trees down. No, it is not constitutional. You cannot amend the Constitution by Supreme Court rulings. You party members say that the Supreme Court is a Supreme dictatorship, and the only reason for an executive branch of government is to appoint Supreme Court justices to be approved by Congress, which is no longer a legislative branch, but instead exists as a place for political party politicians to put money they have borrowed on public credit in their own pockets and to approve Supreme Court appointments. > >>> Well, at least they went for a good cause. That is not what the Supreme Court does. What they do is assess whether the Constitution is being upheld by legislation passed by legislative bodies. In the case of federal lands, the Supreme Court did not amend the Constitution. They ruled that the laws supporting the federal control of lands was constitutional. Now, a private citizen can disagree with a decision of ye Supreme Court, but they cannot sensibly question whether the Supreme Court is the identified body in charge of making those decisions — that power vested in the Supreme Court is clearly called out in the Constitution. I am amused by people like Ammon Bundy, who take it upon themselves to usurp the function of the Supreme Court and simultaneously claim that they are doing that to uphold the Constitution. I see that Mr. Bundy has managed to sway you into believing that nonsense. I am not a party member. I am an independent voter. Notice that my being an independent voter does not guarantee that I am going to agree with you. Now does my disagreement with you make me a party member. That kind of virulent us vs. them demonizing is exactly where this country has gone south, and you are as guilty of it as any politician in office. > You party members say that the Supreme Court is a Supreme dictatorship, > and the only reason for an executive branch of government is to appoint > Supreme Court justices to be approved by Congress, which is no longer a > legislative branch, but instead exists as a place for political party > politicians to put money they have borrowed on public credit in their own > pockets and to approve Supreme Court appointments. > >>>>> Well, at least they went for a good cause. I see that Mr. > Bundy has managed to sway you into believing that nonsense. I know exactly what the Supreme Court does, and I know what the Constitution empowers the Supreme Court to do. The Constitution empowers the Supreme Court to make final judgments in cases that are brought before it. You claim it is a judicial dictatorship that is more powerful than anything else in the federal government. I also know where that idea comes from. It comes from a single case in 1803, Marbury v. Madison, in which the Supreme Court claimed that it was striking down an act of Congress. The Democratic Party, at that time called the Republican-Democrat Party, used that Supreme Court case to enforce slavery for the next sixty years. So I know what the Supreme Court does, and I know what the Constitution empowers the Supreme Court to do. They are two different things. > > I am not a party member. I am an independent voter.
