It took me a moment that bath is balistic/emission theory ;-)

I'm lost.
You said:
- Bath says the travel times are the same
OK, this quite obvious.

- BaTh says light does not oscillate during travel but has a fixed wavelength.
OK, many theory say that. This is more about, as someone mentioned
in thread, relation between phase/group/signal velocities.

But how from this two assumption you get the result?

The wave front does not osculate, so both fronts have (for example)
phase 0. Both signal appear in the detector in the same time,
so I do not see the phase difference.

Didn't Sagnac experiment one of the experiments disproving (ale least
simpler version) emission theory?

It isn't obvious to many.

No they don't. Mine is the only one.

....Nothing to do with that diversionary crap.

You wouldn't...because you don't have the intelligence or knowledge.
When the ring is stationary, each path contains the same number of
wavelengths. During an angular ACCELERATION, THE NUMBERS BECOME UNEQUAL
and REMAIN unequal after the acceleration ceases.

The result is that any two arriving wave elements are always out of
phase if the ring is rotating at all.

> Didn't Sagnac experiment one of the experiments disproving (ale least
> simpler version) emission theory?

That was a fallacy. People like Roberts and Andersen wrongly analyze it
from the POV of the rotating frame and get their logic all wrong. In
fact, Sagnac clearly disproves Einstein's silly theory.

To explain the Sagnac effect, Henry proposes a theory of light propagation which
is quite unlike any rational emission theory. It is so bizarre that it requires
an animation to appreciate.

Henry summarized his Sagnac theory in a Visual Basic program, "rayphases.exe".
One should, of course, normally never execute an executable from a source as
ignorant of system security as Henry, but as a professional software developer,
I was able to execute his program in a virtual environment to obtain screen
captures. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8XIf0XcrpOcTmVSTUl3cGlzc2s

His animation depicts the phase changes experienced by a photon pair as they
travel in opposite directions around the Sagnac ring. It is a little misleading
because he uses sinusoidal waves to record the photons' state at different
moments during their travel around the ring, but in reality, the two photons
exist only at the leading edges of the two oppositely propagating paths.

Henry's photons oscillate as they travel. Furthermore, their rate of oscillation
depends on their state of motion when they were emitted. Although Henry denies
that frequency exists, photons emitted in a forward direction have a higher
oscillation rate than photons emitted in a rearward direction, so that the
wavelength in all directions is constant.

Although Henry denies the existence of absolute space, his model is critically
dependent on the emission point being fixed in absolute space.

This fact is much more easily appreciated if one considers the two-dimensional
spread of an infinitesimal pulse of photons from a traveling source. Imagine
a satellite orbiting around the Earth that emits a pulse of photons as it passes
over a fixed landmark (the red dot).
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8XIf0XcrpOcdzhsazFMZVo3cUE
(The gif animation works directly from Google Drive on most computers, but
I've noticed that a few old tablets have issues. If the animation does not
work for you, download the gif file and display it locally.)
The top animation is directly analogous to Henry's rayphases program, in that
it displays the photons' entire phase history. The satellite is presumed to be
traveling at 0.5 c, and one can see the symmetrical spread of light around the
satellite. However, rearwards light travels at 0.5 c relative to the emission
point, while forwards light travels at 1.5 c relative to the emission point, all
the while maintaining a constant wavelength.

The bottom animation illustrates the phase changes of the spreading ring of
photons from the infinitesimal pulse. The dependency of the phase changes on the
position in absolute space of the emission point should be evident.

Have you ever considered that if you think that the satellite is running into
the Earth, that maybe you are misinterpreting the animation?

You are stupid againg.

The signal time is: t = L/(c+/-v),
i other case there is nothing to measure.

An interference is irrelevant.

It doesn't bother you that in the bottom animation, light emitted from the "+"

I am a true relativist. Why should I take any interest in Einstein's
ridiculous version?

Light radiates symmetrically in the source frame. That is what you have
drawn.

The flashbulb was attached to the moving "+" symbol, which in rayphases would
be the beam splitter.

With v = 0.5 c, the rate of phase change in the forwards direction is three
times the rate of phase change in the reverse direction.

This is PRECISELY the same behavior exhibited by your rayphases animation.

In other words, you predict a serious violation of the principle of relativity,
which has been a fundamental pillar of physics since Galileo.

You cannot fall back on claiming that this violation of the principle of
relativity is an artifact of rotating reference frames. Although the rayphases
circle is only a few centimeters across on your computer screen, doubling its
diameter predicts the same thing. Keep doubling until the diameter is the same
as the Earth, and it STILL predicts that the the rate of phase change in the
forwards direction is greater than the rate of phase change in the reverse direction.

That is correct. That is the rate at which waves pass a point in the
non-rotating frame. That is because one ray is moving faster than the
other in that frame.

I can't see why you are having a problem with this.
> In other words, you predict a serious violation of the principle of relativity,

No I do not. You are just hopelessly confused. You cannot get into your
head the reason why he path lengths differ whenever there is rotation.
Einstein violated relativity with his second postulate.

So it should be. Waves are going passed a stationary point more quickly
in one than the other.

It is not bizarre, It is perfectly simple and straightforward. The path
lengths are different during rotation and they change only during an
acceleration. Wavelength is the same (think 'relative to the source' if
you like) in both rays.

You completely misinterpret the animation. It shows how a 'photon' would
experience the phase of the 'wavelengths' that are already in existence.

> Although Henry denies the existence of absolute space, his model is critically

nonsense. It assumes that light moves at c relative to its source and
that wavelength is absolute.

Having such a low IQ, you Einstein worshippers all have trouble
visualizing what happens in the ring, ie., sending moving objects around
a rotating torus. You cannot get into your head that the path lengths
are different irrespective of the common speed of the objects...mainly
because you keep jumping into the rotating frame.

You are an idiot...a really hopeless case.... If anything, the bottom
one represents the BaTh concept.... and why do you the hell does your

Earth, you know. Can't you program properly?

For lurkers:

Right.
The path lengths, that is the length of the two paths of
the wave fronts with phase zero (or any constant value)
are 2piR(c+v)/c and 2piR(c-v)/c respectively.
When these non-oscillating wave fronts with phase zero start
simultaneously and move the distances (2piR(c+v)/c) and
2piR(c-v)/c with the speeds (c+v) and (c-v) respectively,
they will meet simultaneously a time 2piR/c later and
the phases of the non-oscillating wave fronts are obviously
still both zero. No phase difference.

It is indeed a weird idea that you can count wavelength
along the path of a wave front!
Look at the simulation above.
There never are any waves along the paths!

There are, of course, discrepancies between what Henry writes in these posts
versus what he has written in his Sagnac manifesto and has displayed in his
rayphases simulation, so I always have to take what he says with a boulder of
rock salt. His use of English language words is occasionally non-standard, as
for example when he denies the applicability of the word "frequency" when
describing light.

He did, however write about my 2D interpretation of his rayphases model, "If
anything, the bottom one represents the BaTh concept."

Henry therefore affirms his belief that a circular pulse of light emitted from
a moving point source shows different rates of phase change in different
directions. This is as violent a disavowal of the principle of relativity as one
can get, one that has been a central pillar of physics since Galileo.

You silly animation does not illustrate my theory as you say it does.
You have it upside down, back-to-front.....
The top diagram shows tha prediction of Einstein and Lorentz. The bottom
one shows the BaTh model of how a light pulse would move away from the
source when viewed in the ground frame.

Dono is right about you (if nothing else).....You are totally clueless.

Bullshit.

Look, forget about rayphases. The wave shown there is not what you think
it is.

In Sagnac, the wavelengths are the same in both rays, because they both
move at c relative to the source. What you cannot get into your head is
that when the thing is rotating, there are more wavelengths in one path
than the other. During the time a light element goes around the ring
from source to receiver, MORE enter the receiver from one side than the
other.
That does not cause a fringe MOVEMENT....the phase difference just
maintains the displacement, at constant speed.

As I have stated repeatedly: You are probably the *least* competent person on
these newsgroups to comment on BaTh. You simply do not understand the
implications of this so-called "theory", as you put it.

The only thing that you have demonstrated in this thread is how totally BLIND
you are to the problems of your Sagnac analysis. You are totally comfortable
with the notion that a circular pulse emitted from a moving "+" source radiates
outwards with different rates of phase change in different directions.

No sane theory of physics violates the principle of relativity the way that your
Sagnac analysis does. You do not even realize how incompatible your Sagnac
analysis is with your variable star luminosity explanation!

Like it or not, Henry, your Sagnac explanation depends on the existence of an
absolute frame and violates a fundamental principle of physics first expounded
by Galileo.
