But Hipparcos measured the deflection for angles in the range,
40-135 degrees, and even you must understand that many of these
will have been made when Hipparcos was in the shadow of the Earth.
And as you can see are all the deviations in this range > 1 mas

For the earth, the deflection is 2.88x10^-4 arc-seconds, a far cry from the bogus number that Ralphie-boy pulled out of some place near his back pocket. The precision of one single Hipparcos measurement of
a 8-9 mag star is ca. 3 mas. But because several million
measurements are made of each star, the error of the average
of the measurements is 0.0016 mas, which is a thousand
times less than the deflection at 140 degrees, and
seven thousands times less than the deflection at 40 degrees.

Ralph, the GR formula is alpha = 4*G*M/(R*c^2) which gives you 1.75 arcsecs, Ralph. Mr. Rabbidge, the table Paul posted is for what GR predicts, Ralph. Ralph Malcolm Rabbidge, Newtonian mechanics predicts exactly half that, Ralph.

The Hipparcos telescope cannot possibly measure the deflection with sufficient accuracy to discriminate between the two because every star in its field will experience the same deflection, giving it no accurate reference for its orientation. The coordinates it produces for a particular star will be relevant only for itself and will not necessarily be the same for a telescope on Earth, particularly after aberration and other effects have been catered for.

deflection with sufficient accuracy doesn't mean a gaggle of scientists

the satellite and the sun is valid whereever the satellite is, Ralph, as

Nope. Hipparcos had Marty Feldman eyes. It simultaneously looked in two directions at the same time.
