The sky, from the ground where I'm standing towards 'up', is only around
60 miles.

Well, possibly.

BUT: I present a certain idea/concept and try to defend that.

Here I wanted to defend the idea, that unseen things could be real, 
nevertheless, even if nobody is watching.

(Some asian philosophies claim otherwise.)

But I wouldn't require recognition of an object by a human being, if I 
want to call that object 'real'.

I would only require this:

if some beeing would live there or nearby, that being should be able to 
interact with that object.

But there is no need to require an observer in the first place.
