What? Do you have no clue what a reference frame is? Do you have no clue
what relative motion is? This is HIGH SCHOOL physics and you don't
understand it, yet you are trying to tell us that YOU have the answers?
WTF?

Or are you just inventing your own definitions (which conflict with those
of science) again?

> but no observer is at rest in the ether.

Since there is no aether in SR, irrelevant.

Again, no aether in SR, so no exclusive properties to claim.

By writing that, you prove that you don't even know what the definition of
a rest frame is. A rest frame of an observer is the frame created such
that the observer is stationary (and typically at the origin).

Back to Odd's face/nose example. You can define a frame in which your face
is stationary. Your face is always at rest in this frame, by definition.
When you measure the speed of your nose in this frame, you always will
get 0 motion/stationary since your nose is attached to your face.
Now this frame may or may not be inertial, for example, if you get on a
roller coaster, this frame will not be inertial. And other people/observers
will see your face/this reference frame move about as you move about.
SR describe relations between objects as they move around relative to each
other.

Notice that I did not once mention "aether" in the previous paragraph.
Nor did I need to. SR stands for Special RELATIVITY, it's all about
RELATIVE motion.

I think Odd said you have Halliday and Resnick. Get it out and look up
reference frame and Newton's First Law in its index, and READ it.
If you don't, borrow a high school physics book from the library and do
the same.

>> your aether frame, so he CANNOT be "claiming the aether frame"!

>Although an observer is not at rest in the ether but he can still use the

Not in SR. SR states aether is irrelevant or nonexistant, so no aether
frame math.

>An IRT observer recognizes that he is not at rest in the ether so he
>predicts that a clock moving wrt him can run slow or fast....but only one

So IRT cannot make an exact prediction. That's yet another reason why IRT
is a complete failure.

In addition, IRT cannot deal with my "three rocket" example I posted a
couple times in similar threads. With two observers, you may claim that
if A's clock is slow by B's clock then B's clock is fast by A's clock and
all is well. With 3 moving clocks...FAIL.

>I said tat IRT is a complete theory of relativity and it includes LET and
>SR as subsets.

If SR is a subset of IRT, that means IRT agrees with everything SR says,
at least as a limit, but IRT has something additional to say.

Like how SR is (really) a subset of GR. GR agrees with everything SR has
to say when there is no gravity (SR's domain). In addition, GR has lots
to say when there *is* gravity.

Please clarify your beliefs. How many aether frames are there in IRT?

1) None;
2) One;
3) Five;
4) Infinitely many with different origins but stationary wrt each other;
5) I haven't decided yet.
