Besides Newton knew nothing of transforms, he implicitly used the simplest, the Galilean. He had no evidence of anything else, as he knew of nothing that moved at relativistic speeds, other than light itself (which he considered instantaneous, I believe). > Why is it when I do the same thing he did with a GPS satellite, you go >insane? Nobody is going insane. But look up the design specs of the GPS. It explicitly gives the reasons for the time conversion and why. It does NOT use the Galilean transform. It uses (approximately) a combination of the Lorentz transform and a gravitational transform. Using the Galilean transform in this case just leads to stupid, wrong conclusions, like scientists using broken clocks. Can't you accept for that one simple case of the GPS, you don't use the Galilean transform?
