In an earlier job, we had this enormous roll of fibre optic cable used for testing how propagation delay of fibre channel signals affected certain systems under test. The fibre never left the spool, so it was curved more than a fibre that was actually installed so in theory would have more reflections than a straighter run. So why was the delay time the same as what the manufacturer said it would be for an installed run?
