Well, that depends on what you think "particles" entails. To most physicists these days that translates into a quantum field, which is much, much different than the classical notion of a particle. But to your earlier comment, the faith in a model is directly tied to how well it matches between expected and observed experimental results. And on that front, the standard model of quantum fields is spectacularly successful.
