Furthermore, you may note that the Voigt transforms do not comprise a 
mathematical group. Since this is a key mathematical property, you might 
well say that the Voigt transformations were dead in the water from the 
outset, though they did the obligatory function of preserving the 
invariance of Maxwell's equations with inertial reference frame.
