Einstein threw up his hands and said some form of ether exists but
he didn't know what it is.

BTW, Laurence's understanding is quite limited. Sound is the actual
manipulation of a medium where light appears to move from one
transmitting medium to another unimpeded. e.g air to water to air
again. Sound sustains significant losses during similar motion.

There is *no* rational equivalency between light and sound.
