No, the error is embedded in the academic system. And 'academia' mirrors
ancient social and occult structures.
In a better world there would be a 'better' system of research.
But such a system would quickly give away, what the 'inner circle'
regards as their property: secret knowledge.
So we have an oxymoron, that tries to include public science and secret
knowledge. And this is, what creates weird paradoxes.
So the entire system went off into the woods, because this is the only
possible way, how secrets could be kept as exclusive property.
The system of academic research cannot do better than it does, because
they cannot get rid of the internal structure, which mirrors external
social hierarchies.
The system of academic research is based on professionals. And you
cannot become a professional researcher, unless you are proven to be a
trustful part of the hierarchy.
To become a professional you need to find a promoter (master), who will
be responsible for your 'trustfulness', hence would never hire 'rebels'.
So in short: the system can only replicate itself and will not allow any
substantial change.
Once this would occur and eventually from outside the system, the entire
structure would collapse. And this would violate the purpose of the
system: its eternal self-replication.
What we are arguing with are the adepts ('slaves') of the system, which
have to prove their trustfulness first, that they might eventually be
chosen into the system.
