There is another book, which I like to recommend and which is much more 
'mathematical' than my own text:

"Zero to Infinity" by Peter Rowlands

This book is quite similar in the concept, but written by a real 
professor of Physics.

I have sent my own text to Mr. Rowlands and received a friendly reply 
(some years ago).
