What does this mean?  It appears that QM is more basic than GR, the latter
being derivable from the former.  Hence, space-time (and "bending" thereof)
is an approximation of reality, useful but not to be taken too literally.

So it is fine to talk about gravitational waves and believe in QM at the
same time without going insane :-)  The insane are those who keep trying
to denigrate relativity and fail every time:
