New Albany police and Columbus police said Foster was taken into custody in the area of 7th Avenue and High Street. https://youtu.be/F9btq8w1DKU First responders were called to the KDC/One facility, a beauty product company, in the area of the 8800 block of Smiths Mill Road North just before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. "We've been shot at KDC/ Albany One, I've been shot!.." a caller told 911. "Where is the shooter? "The shooter is still inside the building... I've been shot on my neck and my body is on the floor, but I took the gun away from him." New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones said Foster, 28, works at that location and was on the clock for several hours before the shooting took place. https://www.instagram.com/p/DFsmgK9s1ia/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=ce9085 1e-bfa5-42f0-a9f4-69cc7a3d662d "(Managers and employees) did say that nobody here noticed any type of confrontation or anything that might have triggered this," Jones said during a news conference Wednesday morning. Jones added that Foster was the only suspect. The handgun he's accused of using was found at the scene. "This appears at this point to be a targeted attack," he said, cautioning that the investigation was in its preliminary stages. It's not known who Foster may have been targeting. About 150 people were inside the building at the time of the shooting. Jones said some employees did not know anything had happened in part because of the sheer size of the facility. "This has been a very tragic situation," he said. "Our thoughts go out to the victims, their families, and everybody that works at this facility. This is something that we hoped that would never happen in our community. But we prepare for it." Police were not able to give specifics on the conditions of the wounded who were rushed to hospitals. The person who died was declared dead at the scene. That person's identity was not immediately released. Four of the five injured victims were rushed to Mount Carmel East Hospital, but it remains unclear where the fifth person was being treated. Law enforcement officers had checked several locations before sunrise Wednesday in their search for Foster. Tuesday's incident was the third such shooting at a large warehouse in Central Ohio since 2022. The ATF and the Ohio BCI are among the agencies helping investigate the scene, which Jones said likely will keep the facility closed throughout much of the day. What is KDC/One? According to the website, KDC/One is an international company that develops, creates, and packages beauty and personal care products. However, ABC6 Investigates uncovered the New Albany location has received a series of serious safety violations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. OSHA issued the company a $40,000 fine. The Licking County Auditor's website shows that Tri-Tech Laboratories purchased the New Albany property in 2010. In 2011, the warehouse was built. In 2019, the name was transferred to KDC US Holdings Inc. OSHA inspected the New Albany warehouse after receiving a complaint on KDC TriTech Laboratories in 2015. In 2016, inspectors issued nine safety violations, of which six were considered "serious." Several violations focused on what inspectors called hazards with warehouse equipment. Inspectors noted, "Located in the maintenance shop, employees operated a Birmingaham, model number YCL-1440GK lathe, serial number 07015211, that did not have a guard over the lathe's chuck, thereby exposing employees to a caught-in hazard. c. Located on Line 6 Terco machine, there was an opening in the guarding where caps entered the Terco machine that did not prevent employee exposure to the moving parts where the collet would press caps on to bottles, thereby exposing employees to an amputation and/or laceration hazard." Another violation addressed a lack of training for electrical work. "Located throughout the facility, employees performed electrical work in panel boxes without having the required training for electrical work; thereby exposing employees to arc flash and/or electrical shock hazards," the OSHA inspector stated. A non-serious violation cited the lack of proper reporting of a workplace injury. "On or about November 8, 2015, an employee was hospitalized after receiving burn injuries to the upper portion of the body. The employer did not report the inpatient hospitalization to OSHA within 24 hours," stated the inspector. Wednesday afternoon, KDC/One released a statement from CEO Nick Whitley in response to the deadly workplace shooting. “We are shocked and saddened by the tragic shooting that occurred on February 4 at our New Albany, Ohio facility. Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted and their families. The safety and well-being of our employees is our top priority. We are actively assisting the New Albany Police Department in their ongoing investigation and are sincerely grateful for the swift action of our local authorities and first responders.” Living next door to the accused shooter Ohio State student Luke, who lives in the complex, said he was studying in his second-floor apartment on Wednesday morning when he heard shouting in the hallway. "I heard the shouting from police," he said. "Police just shouted, 'Raise your hands,' they just handcuffed and took him away." Authorities said they were forced to enter an apartment and tase the suspect when he refused their orders to come out. Foster had been living in a one-bedroom apartment next to Luke for several months. Luke mentioned that although he did not have conversations with Foster, one of his friends had seen the suspect in the study room. "It's kind of crazy to us because, you know, like a suspect, a very dangerous suspect, Just live next door." Foster graduated from Brookhaven High School in 2014 and graduated from Columbus State Community College in 2019 with an associate of arts degree in 2019. -- November 5, 2024 - Congratulations President Donald Trump. We look forward to America being great again. The disease known as Kamala Harris has been effectively treated and eradicated. We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so that stupid people won't be offended. Durham Report: The FBI has an integrity problem. It has none. Thank you for cleaning up the disaster of the 2008-2017 Obama / Biden fiasco, President Trump. Under Barack Obama's leadership, the United States of America became the The World According To Garp. Obama sold out heterosexuals for Hollywood queer liberal democrat donors.
