A moment ago my Pan newsreader informed me that misc.phone.mobile.iphone had 36 messages waiting for me to read. When I clicked on it, there were no messages at all to see. My filters must be working just fine. Have a nice day. -- chrispam1@me.com is an infrequently monitored address. Intelligent people would unsubcribe the group. -- "Roma locuta, causa finita" (Augustinus)

Shouldn't those messages be ignored by the newsreader and not included in the total unread? My newsreader works that way. Surely you have an option to mark the filtered messages as read or ignored. I would assume even newsreaders like Xnews which use scoring files do the same.
