Indeed, running Debian on this kind of device is not perfect.

But there are problems with running a niche distro too. It would be
idiotic to suggest there is a perfect solution.

So all we have to do is trust that the original poster has made the
cost-benefit analysis according to one's own priorities and not try to
convince otherwise.
