Package: oxigraph
Version: 0.4.1-2
Affects: src:rocksdb
Hi,
While testing latest RocksDB version 9.7.4 the reverse dependency
oxigraph failed to pass the post-build test suite with the error
below.
For details of new RocksDB, see
https://salsa.debian.org/debian/rocksdb/-/merge_requests/5 and look at
the CI run and full log at
https://salsa.debian.org/otto/rocksdb/-/jobs/6664708/raw
I need the help of the Oxigraph maintainer to debug this.

Hi Jonas, Is this something you could help with as the maintainer of Oxigraph? https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1088523

I wanted to file a bug upstream, but then realized that it might be solved already with newer rleases, and I then worked on getting the package up-to-date instead. This bug was filed for oxigraph 0.4.1. I have not yet tested myself, but if perhaps you could try yourself if the bug persists with oxigraph 0.4.4 now in Debian, or if the bug is already solved. Here is the seemingly related upstream changes: https://github.com/oxigraph/oxigraph/commit/fe429f0 Kind regards, - Jonas -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist & Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ * Sponsorship: https://ko-fi.com/drjones [x] quote me freely [ ] ask before reusing [ ] keep private

severity 1088523 important tag 1088523 +moreinfo thanks I disagree with the reason action to raise severity: Yes, the bugreport is tagged as ftbfs but it was filed against an older release, and as I pointed out in a previous post to this bugreport, a newer release seemingly addressing this issue is now in unstable and even in testing. I have consequently lowered severity slightly, and tagged this as needing more info to assess the situation. Control: severity -1 serious Control: tags -1 -moreinfo rocksdb 9.8 was uploaded to Unstable a couple days ago and oxigraph is now failing to build on most architectures although it built successfully there a month ago. Therefore, I am raising the severity of this issue. https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=oxigraph Thank you, Jeremy Bícha

Control: reassign -1 src:rocksdb 9.8.4-1 Control: affects -1 src:oxigraph Control: retitle: Quoting Jeremy Bícha (2024-12-23 16:31:50) > Control: severity -1 serious > Control: tags -1 -moreinfo > > rocksdb 9.8 was uploaded to Unstable a couple days ago and oxigraph is > now failing to build on most architectures although it built > successfully there a month ago. Therefore, I am raising the severity > of this issue. I don't understand wht the moreinfo tag is removed: I still consider more info needed for this bugreport, despite the failure to properly coordinate the new release of rocksdb. * earlier oxigraph built fine with earlier rocksdb. * current oxigraph is unchanged regarding its use of rocksdb. * upstream of oxigraph fails to reproduce this bug with current oxigraph built against upstream rocksdb 9.8.4. * current oxigraph builds fine with future rocksdb 9.10.0, in a local test simply doing a `gbp import-orig`. * main change between upstream rocksdb 9.8.4 and 9.10.0 seemingly is changes to how they do auto-triggered compaction of databases, including what they call an "[i]mortant follow-up" to a memory leak: https://github.com/facebook/rocksdb/pull/13106 It seems likely to me that the bug is in rocksdb rather than oxigraph, so I am reassigning. Perhaps this issue is also fixed in v9.8.1, not in Debian but mentioned since November in related upstream bugreport: https://github.com/facebook/rocksdb/issues/13066 Kind regards, - Jonas -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist & Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ * Sponsorship: https://ko-fi.com/drjones [x] quote me freely [ ] ask before reusing [ ] keep private

Quoting Jonas Smedegaard (2025-01-12 19:26:12) > Quoting Otto Kekäläinen (2025-01-12 19:08:05) > > I can try importing latest upstream and run reverse builds for all > > dependants. > > Thanks, that sounds quite helpful. I have now adjusted to build routines for oxigraph to tolerate failures related to this bug when suite is listed as experimental or UNRELEASED in topmost changelog section. This is done to be able to examine further if only the tests are broken or also the packaged executable. So if you target experimental, make sure to look for FAILED strings in build logs. - Jonas -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist & Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ * Sponsorship: https://ko-fi.com/drjones [x] quote me freely [ ] ask before reusing [ ] keep private
