Something's clearly gone wrong here. I'm retitling the bug report in recognition and raising its severity. Best wishes, Julian

Control: tags -1 + confirmed Hi Julian, Julian Gilbey, on 2024-06-14: > Ah, I think I see the cause of the problem: the python-dask-doc > package is almost empty! Something's clearly gone wrong here. I happen to be staring at dask at the moment, and indeed, lintian tripped on the broken doc-base entries caused by the empty package. In essence, the building procedure looks to rely heavily on resources on the web, and required extra steps in past uploads to stay in working conditions. There are patching stubs already present replacing some of the remote resources by some locally packaged ones, but I didn't really grasp how the whole thing worked to extend on that. Have a nice day, :) -- .''`. Étienne Mollier <emollier@debian.org> : :' : pgp: 8f91 b227 c7d6 f2b1 948c 8236 793c f67e 8f0d 11da `. `' sent from /dev/pts/1, please excuse my verbosity `-

Something's clearly gone wrong here. I probably found the reason docs aren't building correctly. In debian/rules the call to build the docs is: PYTHONPATH=$(CURDIR) $(MAKE) -C docs html || true running the documentation build without the || true. Extension error (sphinx.ext.autosummary): Handler <function process_generate_options at 0x7ff3fbd04360> for event 'builder-inited' threw an exception (exception: no module named dask_expr.DataFrame) It looks like dask_expr is officially an optional dependence as of 2024.5.2, I going to see if I can make it optional to sphinx too. Diane

What a silly thing to do in a build script! :-) > running the documentation build without the || true. > > Extension error (sphinx.ext.autosummary): > Handler <function process_generate_options at 0x7ff3fbd04360> for event > 'builder-inited' threw an exception (exception: no module named > dask_expr.DataFrame) > > It looks like dask_expr is officially an optional dependence as of > 2024.5.2, I going to see if I can make it optional to sphinx too. Thanks for fixing this! Best wishes, Julian
