"seelischen Tiefenschichten" klingt für mich wie religiöse Propaganda.
Ich würde eher genetisch instinktivem Vorwissen verwenden.
Einfach der Gespenstereffekt, der zur schnellen Mustererkennung dient.

In einigen Fällen ja.
Ein Placebo hat eine gewisse Heilwirkung.
Die Illusion vom Leben nach dem Tod senkt Hemmungen beim Sterben.
Viele Kinder erhöhen die den Erhalt von einigem genetischem Tod.
Allerdings erhöht Nachwuchs Überschuss Anlass zu gewalttätigen
Auseinandersetzung z.B. um Nahrung.
Durch Menschenopfer fiel noch nie ernsthaft mehr Regen.
Und beten um bessere Ernten ..

Und 99% der ehemaligen DDR Bevölkerung waren gläubige Kommunisten?
Als ich in einem Alter von ca 13 Jahren noch regelmäßig in die
Kirche ging, saßen außer an den Folklore Tage Osten und Weihnachten
fast nur alte Leute. Vielleicht wollten die auch nur Gesellschaft haben.
Vor 100 Jahre war Religion noch anders.
Heutzutage ist Religion überwiegend durch Konsum und entertainment
ersetzt. Bei Instinkten wird Verstand meist deaktiviert.
Hermann
der diverse Religionsanhänger, die Geburtenregelung behindern,
für kriminell hält, weil das erheblich nicht natürlicher Leid und Tod
zur Folge hat.
