Nein, ich stelle nicht ernsthaft die Frage, weil ich das wissen wollte. Habe ihn fast täglich im Einsatz. In einem aktuellen YouTube-Video von Computerphile der Universität von Nottingham <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTfOnGZUZDk> erzählt Brian Kernighan, wie er entstanden ist und nimmt auch Bezug auf den Editor ED (daher X'post in die Editor- und Folklore Gruppe). Ich lernte allerdings, dass ed als "Ee Dee" ausgesprochen wird. Und dass "grep" nicht zwangsläufig für "get regular expression pattern" steht, wie ich immer annahm. Sondern es aus dem Kommando g/re/p herrührt, welches aus ed stammt. Ich muss wohl nicht erwähnen, dass das Video auf Englisch ist. -- Andreas You know you are a redneck if you ever been arrested for relieving yourself in an ice machine.
