Also ich habe mir (gestern schon) eine Mail mit der Zeile geschickt. Und
diese Mail mit ein paar Headern, auf einer TTY gelesen, sieht so aus:

MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed
Content-Disposition: inline
User-Agent: Mutt/1.9.2 (2017-12-15)

This is a flowed paragraph. It should be rendered to the optimal text width, whatever that may be and not to the +width of the actual lines.

Er erstellt nur *eine* Zeile, also gibt es keine Zeile mit abschließendem
SPACE. Das liegt dann am Editor, dem ich nicht sagte, er solle selbst
auch umbrechen. Ich habe das Prinzip also falsch verstanden (der Editor
muss selbst umbrechen, damit es funktioniert).

Jetzt müsste ich vim noch beibringen, umzubrechen. Ich dachte

set editor="vi -S \"set textwidth=72\""

in der .muttrc sollte das tun, er bricht aber nicht um. Wie ist es richtig?

Ich habe außerdem in meiner .muttrc nur "set text_flowed". Dort sollte
alles richtig sein.
