Absolutely. "Lords" wasn't really my cup of tea either back in the day,
but having played it more recently, I was hugely impressed by the size
of the world he created and the depth of its gameplay. He knew, and
deeply cared about, what he was doing. In my book there's no higher
praise than that.

No doubt he put as much care and effort into the last game he worked
on - Race Driver: Grid - but I can't help feeling it was a bit of a
comedown from the days of Beyond. A strategy game using Bethesda's
Skyrim engine would have been more his style.

A sad loss. And only 61, too.
