Seems to only work for native Apple apps and with them- some well, some not so much. In iWork for example, it makes things worse with very high contrast between dark borders, menus, tool bars, inspector panels, etc. and a brilliant white data entry screen. Seasoned citizen eyes don't do well > with that! I think the "feature" has been badly misnamed. It's not designed for making everything dark or easier for peopl's eyes, it's simply for focussing on the content you're working on. Realisitically it's just another gimmick that few people will bother to use or even know about. For "seasoned" citizen eyes, you should probably be looking at the "Accessibility" options instead.
