Okay, so one time? In band camp? Davoud <star@sky.net> was all, like: > If you are relying on TimeMachine you have only your files backed > up. They are brought back as part of the restore, along with apps and settings. > That would be at least two days of hands-on work for one of > my Macs. Okay, so one time? In band camp? For certain values of "exact clone" yes, that is true, depending on the settings you chose. CCC can keep differential backups to some extent. > TM, on the other hand, makes incremental backups of what ever > file/app/document so that you will have multiple copies of the same > file with increasing "newness". Yes, though for many files TM stores the changes, and not entirely new copies of the changed file (Pages docs, for example). > Advantages/disadvantages of both and can you have both on the same > physical drive and still be able to use both without messing up either > one? I would never combine backups onto a single drive. HD space is extremely cheap. Absurdly cheap. -- http://2blog.kreme.com Not every flower can say love, but a rose can. Not every plant survives thirst, but a cactus can. Not every vegetable can read, but bless it, look at you, having a little go.

Absurdly cheap. Thanks for the comments on not putting both on a single drive. Makes a lot of sense.

It can also be set to archive the old (including deleted) files.
