Apple has LOTS of people with vision and creativity. In fact in some ways, Steve Jobs' single-mindedness killed off a lot of ideas that may have been great (and of course many that wre silly).

Ain't that the truth! I love all my Apples from the Apple II thru the latest MacBook Pro. I love how it will run so many OS's including Windows but, due to the high prices of the computers and the hardware from Apple, sadly it is doomed. Saint Isidore

Mac market share has been steadily rising. 2. People have been saying "Apple is doomed!" for close to twenty years. -- Alan Baker Vancouver, British Columbia "If you raise the ceiling four feet, move the fireplace from that wall to that wall, you'll still only get the full stereophonic effect if you sit in the bottom of that cupboard."

The prices are higher than a cheapo no-name Windows box, but you (usually) get better quality and more equipment. If you actually compare the same specifications, the Mac isn't really more expensive than a Windows PC. (The Mac is even less expensive if you include the cost, monetary and / or time, of trying to deal with all the idiotic malware!) 4. Technically a Windows PC can run many OSes as well, including Mac OS X, but it's against the legal agreement you "sign" to install it on non-Apple machines.

Since 1997, the "doom" metre has gone down quite a bit. But Apple walks a very precarious line because in this business, it doesn't take a big mistake to send a leader company to the bottom (Blackberry for instance). With expectations now more in line with reality in terms of evolutive instead of revolutionary product improvements, the "doom" is down, but people still wonder if Apple can keep its 20 to 40% share depending on where in the world and who you talk to.

Blackberry's "mistake" was a lazy managemant who sat on their backsides and gobbled up piles of money into their own pockets while not actually doing any work or producing almost nothing new. Then along came the iPhone and they sat there like stunned fish trying to figure out what happened. By the time they even remotely got their act together it was already too lte. Mismangament - basically the same "mistake" that killed Commodore Computers and many other companies. > With expectations now more in line with reality in terms of evolutive > instead of revolutionary product improvements, the "doom" is down, but > people still wonder if Apple can keep its 20 to 40% share depending on > where in the world and who you talk to. Apple itself has never really been interested in market share. With their huge bank balance, they could ALMOST simply give Macs and iOS devices away for free if they purely wanted market share. They would still make massive profits on the App Store purchases, etc.
