It depends on where those warnings have been coming from.

Always use the Flash Player panel in System Prefences to check for 
updates for the Flash plug-ins, although some web browsers may have it 
built-in, so you need to get the new version of the browser from their 
official website.

The standalone Flash Player you have to manually download from Adobe's 
website, but most people don't need that anyway.
