I'm perfectly dry.

Your own words:

* "aqua was very glossy, too much",

* "when it was toned down that was an improvement and is the reason I'm
still on Mavericks"

* "they toned it down to next to nothing with the flat look we see in
versions after Mavericks"

* "if the interface recedes too much then it becomes unusable".

Your words certainly seem to be hinting that you find the flatness
detracts from usability. I simply commented that I don't find that to be
the case *for* *me*. And I did it without flinging wet noodles around.
Not that I really care what you use. Feel free to continue using
Mavericks until you hit enter ground if you want. I still use 10.6 on
some of my ancient machines in use for very limited tasks - though I
definitely don't consider it any more usable than the latest and
greatest macOS versions though. I think it's great we all have choices.
