If you have physical install media, it's a Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
DVD.

What *model* and *year* computer is this? Depending on the model, it may
or may not be able to run 10.6.

Knowing the model we'll know which version of macOS it came with and
which versions it can run.

What version macOS is *currently* running on it?

That's definitely not the verbatim message. You made some obvious typos
above.

Regardless, to install 10.6 on it, you'll need to insert the Install Mac
OS X 10.6 DVD into the drive, then reboot while holding the C key on the
keyboard to boot from the DVD. Once you've booted up, you'll need to run
Disk Utility from the Utilities menu, erase the startup drive, then quit
Disk Utility to get back to the installer, where you can then install
10.6 onto the startup drive.

Once you have 10.6 installed, you'll have to either use the App Store to
upgrade the OS or use a previously downloaded installer from the App
Store. I have every release archived so I can easily just copy a file to
upgrade when needed.

Good, because installing 10.6 on it will naturally delete all data you
currently have on the drive. I would advise making another separate
backup with Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper as an added precaution.
Better safe than sorry.
