I fixed it by adding "--no-namechange" to the "ProgramArguments" dictionary of the /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.discoveryd.plist property list, setting the name to the correct name in System Preferences > Sharing (and clicking Edit there to ensure the name was correct there too), and finally rebooting my router and the computer. I've read reports that Apple has this fixed in the latest update, but haven't bothered to remove the switch from the property list yet. -- E-mail sent to this address may be devoured by my ravenous SPAM filter.
