That would be better than a cusom database like MacGourmet, but it
still has issues if the database maker decides to stop making it (or if
the user switches from Windows to Mac if using Access) ... although any
good database will allow you to easily export the data to then import
on another piece of software.

Using a widely used word processor like Word does give you somewhat
better chances of "future proofing" ... Word can still opens up
documents from the early versions, even though it now has the silly
.docx version. Obviously at some stage Word might disappear, Microsoft
go bankrupt or somthing, but almost every other word processor on the
planet can also open Word documents.

There are lots, and millions of recipe sharing websites out there, but
your again stuck with whether or not the website owners decided to keep
it going or not.  :-)
