I've tried WINE and Crossover before, and they were useless. Even the
supposedly "compatible" applciations didn't work properly. In one case
someone had to use an Access database (for funding reporting purposes),
and while the database itself was usable for entering and finding data,
the rpoerts simply didn't work - they had to use a USB flash drive with
the database on it in a real, and ancient and slow, Windows PC instead
to get the reports out of it.

Crossover may be better now, but I still wouldn't bother with it. The
only way to be properly compatible with Windows is tho actually have
Windows installed in some way.

Just breathing while using Winodze or looking at the computer in
passing can crash the it, let alone the network connection. ;-)

Paragon (probably other options too) makes drivers that let you read
from and write to NTFS drives which would get arounfd that filesize
limitation: http://paragon-drivers.com/ntfs-mac

My latest issue of the UK MacFormat magazine I've just picked up from
the shop has an offer to get 25% off the price, but unfortunately due
to the months it takes for the magazine to arrive get down here in New
Zealand, the offer ended on 6 January. :-(
