I don't know about "obvious" ...  :-\ 

It's not for the consumer-level cameras, but the Hyper company does
sell an add-on called iUSBportCamera for "most Canon / Nikon DSLR
digital cameras" (according to the advert) which gives Wi-Fi
transferring of images, as well as being able to remote control the
camera from your Android / iOS / Mac / PC device, live view of what the
camera is seeing, etc. It plugs into the cmaeras USB port to give a
wireless connection to other devices, and can be mounted on the
camera's hot-shoe.
