The converter is complete with gcc compatible source code. If any kind soul feels a need to provide less-fortunate users of other systems with binaries of this converter please feel free to do so. An improved version with many more features is likely to appear shortly. This version was written as an intructional version, but works fine desite its featureless nature. Bill

So the second part of this exercise needs to be a multi-layered Dithered Sprite and Dithered Background. Getting all this junk into one document so far was a minor miracle, so I kept it really simple for the great unwashed. I think I will do a Space Invaders and a Racing Game with a track editor at some point with the simple sprites, but I may do one of them in DHGR so somebody learns something else. I am toying with the idea of an 8 layered sprite for DHGR and a background mask image to quickly blend the background for reasonable gameplay in DHGR. If the idea works in DHGR it will work even better in SHR where we can use some reasonable color variations outside DHGR's fixed palette. Olivier's idea of inserting 65816 instructions into cc65 would work for the GS but I want to stick to the 8 bit model for my Book on cc65... that way I can jive with the CB and the VOC on the IIe as well as running these-up on the GS. If we can get this working a little quicker I think we may have a game developer's graphics engine in the works. How about sound? Are you prepared to follow-through with something on the hardware side? Bill
